袁大头在货币收藏界被称为银元之宝，它是我国近千种近代银币中流传最广、影响最大的银元品种，也是近代中国币制变革中的一个重要角色。袁大头当中最珍贵、最稀罕的版本，当属民国三年的袁世凯头像“签字版”，此版是为了纪念袁世凯银元刻模的雕刻专家鲁尔治·乔治。银币的正面图案中间为袁世凯戎装左侧面像，上方为“中华民国三年”，袁像右侧刻有雕刻专家鲁尔治·乔治的拉丁签名“L·GIORGI”背面图案均是两株交叉的稻穗，中央为“壹圆”。此枚签字版袁大头，钱币表面的包浆自然、品相保存完好、历史留下的痕迹清晰可见，极具收藏价值和观赏性。
Yuan Datou is known as the treasure of silver dollar in the field of currency collection. It is the most popular and influential silver dollar variety among nearly one thousand kinds of modern silver coins in China and also an important role in the currency system reform of modern China. The most precious and rare version of yuan Dadou is the "signature version" of Yuan Shikai's head portrait in the three years of the Republic of China. This version is to commemorate ruerzhi George the sculptor of Yuan Shikai's silver dollar carving. The obverse of the silver coin is yuan shikairong's portrait on the left side in the middle and "the third year of the Republic of China" on the top. On the right side of the portrait there is the Latin signature "L. Giorgi" of ruerzhi George a sculptor. On the back there are two intersecting spikes of rice and the center is "one circle".
